How to put PowerPoint in a Youtube Video

When you go about trying this tutorial out, you will need a few things:

• MS Paint
• Powerpoint
• Windows Movie Maker
• A Youtube Account

When you have these things, you can start making powerpoint videos on youtube!

If you have slides already made in PowerPoint, go ahead and open up your project. Also, open up MS Paint.

Go into your PowerPoint project and right click the first slide. Once you do this, select "copy". Go into MS Paint and select "paste". You should see a smaller version of the PowerPoint slide you created in Paint. Save the image in Paint and name it (Slide 1, etc.).

Repeat what you did with the PowerPoint slide copy and paste into MS Paint for each slide you have saved for your presentation. I would recommend that you make a folder and put all the MS Paint saves that you did with the PowerPoint slide copy and put them there for organizational reasons.

Once you get all the slides saved and placed into the folder, if you have not already done so, start Windows Movie Maker.

When you start Windows Movie Maker, select "new project" from the file menu.

Drop the PowerPoint slide images you have placed into your presentation folder into the white space provided on Windows Movie Maker.  Be sure to place all the images you want to use within the white space.

Once you get everything there, start dragging the PowerPoint slide images into the video area (the blue area just below the white area where your images are).  When you drop them there, you will see the image of your PowerPoint slide.  If you have a lot of information on the image, I would recommend stretching the image in the video area.  This will make make the image play for longer.  You can adjust how long the image plays for by stretching it or compressing it.

When you get the images loaded into the video area, and you get them playing for the length you would like them to play for (use the play button to test it), you can go about putting in titles and credits.  Also you can put in some fade or transitional effects if you like.

If you want to add credits, just go to "tools" and select "titles and credits".  The video monitor will display what the title and credits will look like as you type them in.  Select where you want the title and credits to appear by clicking the slide where you want them to appear.  A blue bar will appear - and the slide will appear before, during, or after depending on what you select.

If you want an effect or transition, just select the "video effects" or "video transitions" from the tools menu.  It works the same way as the title and credits.  You can expand and contract the feature to affect how long it lasts.  Play around with the feature - it does similar effects that you would see in a PowerPoint presentation.

When you copy a slide from PowerPoint into MS Paint, you will notice that if the image has complex color combinations in it, the image changed.  Because of this, I would recommend using simple [256 color] images.  If you use a complex image, it will appear spotty, poorly rendered, off color, etc.

Because of this, I would also recommend that you do not use a background color effect behind you text on PowerPoint.  Using the white background with some visual enhancements (like borders) should be ok.  If you do use a background color, make sure that it is simple (not blended or artistic).

It should be noted that this tutorial is just the best method I could draft up given the resources I have available to me. There are probably better ways of doing this, but I wanted to find a simple way of doing it with applications that are commonly used.
